ELLERSLIE TRACK WORK. Guineas Candidates Attract Attention. Per Press Association AUCKLAND, October 1. There was beautiful weather for training work at Ellerslie this morning for the final gallops and there was a lot of interesting work. The course proper, with the poles 45 feet out from the rails, was available, also No. 3 grass, the going being on the heavy side. On the course proper Gold Money was first out and, after running her first two furlongs in 27sec, completed five in lmin Bsec. She carried a light weight but worked pleasingly. The two-year-olds Posy and Rulanut, after completing the first furlong in 13 2-ssecs, covered half a mile in 53 4-ssees and finished together. Lady Pam and Spear Lad were sent seven furlongs, finishing together in lmin 38 3-ssecs. They ran the first three in 40 l-ssces. The two-year-olds Midinette and Genestra were going comfortably at the end of half a mile, which took 53 2-ssecs, the former being in front at the finish. Motere and Taurua were sent a mils, running the first half irk 57 i-ssecs, and the full distance in lmin 55 2-ssecs. Both worked very freely. Karapoti jumped off at the five furlong post, running the first furlong in 13secs and completing the task in lmin 7 2-ssecs. He was loafing at the finish. Impressive Work. Actaeon and Cape Gold were on terms over six furlongs, the first three taking 41 l-ssecs and the full distance lmin 24secs. Cadland and Consent were given a similar task, the first three furlongs occupying 39 3-ssecs and the full distance lmin 23 l-ssecs. Cadland was over a length ahead when the post was reached. Both horses impressed. Impetuous pleased more than Pomp over half a mile run in 52 2-ssecs, a good effort. Arisus was doing better than Flabit at the end of six furlongs run in lmin 24 2-ssecs, the first-three taking 41secs. Full Measure, carrying a fair weight, completed five furlongs in lmin 9 1The two-year-olds, Miss Linley, Sea Ruler and Splutter, were timed to run four furlongs in 52 l-ssec. This was a good gallop, the first-named pair pleasing most. Supremacy was too good for Richfield over five furlongs, the first two taking 38 3-ssec and the full distance lmin 6 4-ssec. Supremacy, who was very wide out, finished in good style. King Ford sprinted home from the three furlong post in 41 3-ssec, going very freely. View Halloo Goes Well. The Guineas candidate View Halloo was in front of Peter Jackson at the end of six furlongs, the first three taking 58 3-ssec and th efull distance lmin 21 3-ssec. This was the best effort of the morning over six furlongs. Volimond ran four furlongs in 55 2- and Lucidus was in front of Biddy’s Roy over five furlongs in lmin 13 2-ssec. Both'could have done better. The Waikato juvenile Rippling Waters was always doing better than Uluminagh over half a mile run in 52 l-ssec, a good performance. Honiton was doing her best to complete four furlongs in 55 l-ssec. After breakfast the best effort over five furlongs was registered by Golden Wings, who ran the first two in 25sec and finished in lmin 5 4-ssec. The Guineas candidate was going nicely at the finish. My Own’s Effort. My Own was timed to run the last seven furlongs of a gallop in lmin 39 2-ssec, Jenny Diver assisting her over the last five, which took lmin 10 3-ssec. My Own was in front at the finish. Whirlalong and United finished in front of Jewelled Girdle over a similar distance in the same time. Catoma and Gibraltar were almost on terms ahead of Wild Country at the end of seven furlongs. They ran the first three furlongs in 40 3-ssec, and completed the journey in lmin 37sec. The first named pair did their work impressively. Gay Lap was a shade better than Pewa, with Curie several lengths away at the end of five furlongs. The first two took 25 2-ssec and the full distance lmin 6 4-ssec. Gay Lap pleased most. Croupier was associated with Orapai and Lady Quex over five furlongs. The first two occupied 25 2-ssec. They came home in lmin 6 2-ssec. Orapai finished in front of Croupier, with Lady Quex a couple of lengths away. Good Work. Little Doubt, Cessation, Taneriri and Seatown were companions over a mile. They ran the first two furlongs in 25 4-ssec, Seatown, who got the best of the start, being in front at this stage. Four furlongs were run in 53 l-ssec, and the full journey in lmin 48 3-ssec. Little Doubt and Cessation were together in front at the finish from Taneriri, with Seatown a bit further away. Little Doubt and Cessation both did their work in good style, as did Taneriri, who was conceding them a lot of weight. Seatown is not a good track worker. La Moderne and Inflation, after taking 16 3-ssec for their first furlong, were timed to run half a mile in 56 2-ssec. La Moderne pleased most. RANDWICK GALLOPS. Aipmon Ra Runs Good Six Furlongs. Ihe Epsom final gallops were staged on the grass track at Rand wick this morning under favourable conditions. Ammon Ra, on the bit, held Chief J°y °ver six furlongs, run in lmin I lssec. Gesture took about one-fifth of a second longer. Chemosh registered lmin 18*sec. \ eihnond beat Ivillarney by eight lengths over six furlongs, the time being lmin 19Asec. Denis Boy took lmin 20sec. Cypress ran a mile in lmin 47isec, going nicely. Kodapen and Ranier were not extended over five furlongs, which they covered in lmin 6sec. Concentrate, Oratorium and Laving-

ton comfortably did seven furlongs in lmin 37sec. Vali beat Carry On over a mile in lmin 45i*sec. Love Song did six furlongs in lmin 16sec, assisted by Bold Boy over the last four furlongs, run in 52sec. Chide negotiated a mile in lmin 45sec comfortably. Sun Eagle ran five furlongs of a sterling seven in lmin 7sec, hard held. Pavilion ran the last three of a strong seven-furlong gallop in 40sec. Cathmar was held to beat Pentheus by a neck over seven furlongs, the time being lmin 32Jsec. Stately covered the last four furlongs of a mile gallop in 53sec. CYPRESS BREAKS DOWN.
