EGG AFTERNOON.
Effort to Aid Methodist Orphanage. The annual egg afternoon in aid of the Methodist Orphanage was held in the church grounds at Horrelville on Friday. Visitors were present from all the surrounding districts and a programme of outdoor games and competitions was enjoyed. The eggs collected totalled 243} dozen, and with other gifts of butter, jam and cakes, the orphanage will benefit considerably. Mr S. T. Reid, organising secretary, and Mr Haines, superintendent of the home, both gave short talks during the afternoon. The Rev H. Cottom thanked all for their generous donations. Competitions were won by Mrs Cry sell, Mrs Overend, Mrs A. Forbes and Miss Barr. The members of the church pro--1 vided afternoon tea.
