A meeting of the Lynton DownsCharwell Forks branch of the Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Mrs J. Y. Scales (president). Mrs Scales and Mrs Weavers were the hostesses. A demonstration of biscuitmaking was given by Mrs Scales, and Mrs Weavers showed members how to make slippers out of a used felt hat. A dainty afternoon tea was served.
