SHERMAN AT HIS BEST.
When Shakespeare made Henry IV. say “ Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown ” he might have been thinking about the monarch of the little European kingdom around which the story of “ The Royal Bed,” which is being screened at the Theatre Royal, is written. The story is a faithful adaptation of the play, “ The Queen’s Husband,” and is a skilful satire on monarchy as some kings are expected to play it nowadays. It is a triumph for Lowell Sherman, who, in addition to acting the leading role, also directed the picture. It is one of the best roles this accomplished actor has yet played. Nance O’Neil, as the Queen, has also a splendid part, while the fresh beauty and ability of Mary Astor make her’s a very refreshing role as the princess. Anthony Bushell as the secretary and Robert Warwick as the Prime Minister have also good parts. There are good supporting pictures, including a chapter of the serial, “ Heroes of the Flames.
