WAIPAHI left Auckland on August 17 for Rarotonga, Mauke, Atiu and Mangaia. SOUTHERN CROSS, the mission Vessel, is due at Auckland from Noumea. VANCOUVER AND ’FRISCO SERVICE. AORANGI, from Vancouver, due at Auckland on September 7 and leaves the next day for Sydney, where she is due on September 12. MAKURA, from Sydney, is due at San Francisco on August 28. Leaves on September 2 for Sydney. NIAGARA is to leave Sydney to-day for Vancouver. via Auckland, Suva and Honolulu. Due at Auckland on August 24 and leaves on August 25. VENTURA leaves Sydney on August 25 for San Francisco, via ports. SHIPPING NOTES. BREEZE arrived to-day from Dunedin, via Oamaru and Timaru, to load for Wellington and Wanganui. HOLMDALE arrived this morning to load for Wellington, Picton and WangaPORT WAIKATO, having been delayed by rain, is now expected to-mor-row to load for Tauranga. HUIA, auxiliary schooner, is expected this afternoon from Nelson to complete discharging her cargo of explosives. The vessel will load for Auckland. TOTARA, from Wellington, is due from the north on August 28 to load for Wellington and New Plymouth. POOLTA arrived this morning from southern ports to load for Napier and Gisborne. The ferry steamer will take any Wellington cargo that the vessel may have on board. The Poolta leaves for the north this evening. WINGATUI should arrive to-morrow from Dunedin, via Oamaru and Timaru, to load for Wellington and Auckland. OPIHI will load at Timaru to-morrow and at Lyttelton on Saturday for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. KINI is now expected on Sunday from Westport via Dunedin and Timaru. On discharging a part cargo of coal the vessel returns to Westport. WAIPIATA, expected on Tuesday from Auckland via Wellington, is scheduled to leave for the south the same evening. TASMAN AND PACIFIC. KAREPO is new expected on Sunday from Melbourne, via New Plymouth, Auckland, Portland and Napier. After discharging the vessel proceeds to Castled iff. WAIHEMO. from Pacific Coast ports ls 3 ue „° n Saturday. On discharging she sails for Dunedin, Bluff, Melbourne and Sydney. GABRIELLA, which left Sydney on August 18 for Napier and Picton, is due at the first-named port on Tuesday. WAIKOUAITI is expected to leave Bluff to-day for Sydney and Newcastle. OVERSEAS VESSELS. HERMINIUS is due at Wellington on Saturday from Liverpool with general cargo. Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth are the vessel’s other ports of discharge. TEMERAIRE is expected to leave Lyttelton to-morrow for Napier and Auckland. MaTAKANA was an arrival at Lyttelton this morning from Port ChalmKARAMEA is expected to leave Lyttelton to-morrow for Dunedin, Bluff and Timaru to complete unloading her London cargo. PURIRI, from New York, via Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton this morning and is expected to leave for Dunedin this evening. THE NAURU CHIEF. The steamer Nauru Chief was expected to -complete discharge of her phosphate cargo at Auckland yesterday and will sail for Westport to bunker. From Westport she is to return to Nauru and Ocean Islands, via Suva. DAMAGE AT WANGANUI. “ The s.s. Dunrobin broke away from the No. 1 wharf at Castlecliff during a squall of almost hurricane force on the evening of July 18,” reported the resident engineer, Mr H. V. M. Hazard, at a recent meeting of the Wanganui Harbour Board (states “The Chronicle”). “ Some damage (apart from the broken springs) occurred to the board’s property. This consisted of minor damage to the fenders of the Castlecliff wharf and at the end of the Basin wall. Unfortunately, at the same time the Wigham -Light at the end of the wall was dislodged and lost.” the report continued. “ The cost of re-establishing this light would he approximately £115.” MAUNGANTJI REPORTS. Maunganui, en route from San Francisco, has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive at Wellington at 7 a.m. on Monday. She will leave again the following daj'’ for Sydney. THE CITY OF KIMBERLEY. The equipment necessary to repair the steamer City of Kimberley, which was disabled while en route from New York to Auckland in the Pacific Ocean on July 2, is now on its way out from England. A new propeller, tail shaft and crankshaft are in the Commonwealth and Dominion liner Port Gisborne, which is due at Wellington on Sunday from London, and a new stern tube is being brought by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera, which is due at Auckland on September 6 from Southampton. PERSONAL. Captain Wildman has relieved Captain Hay as master on the Matangi. Captain Wahlstrom is now in command of the Titoki, having been relieved of his command of the Kaitoa by Captain MacMillan.
