At Newport in the invitation tennis tournament Wood defeated Doeg 6-1, 6-1. 8-6. In the first round of the doubles Perry and Hughes (England) defeated Jake Hess (Fort Worth) and Casper Nannes (New’ York) 6-1, 6-2.
