PERSONAL.
Mr W. J. Hunter returned from Napier yesterday. Mr D. Reese, a member of the Railway Board, will leave for the north tomorrow night. Mr P. R. Climie, a member of the Unemployment Board, is leaving for the north to-night. Professor D. B. Copland, _Captain H. Monro, Dr A. C. M’Killop and Mr J. Bitchener, M.P., will leave for the north to-night. The Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.) arrived from Wellington yesterday. He will leave again for the north by the ferry steamer to-morrow evening. Mr A. E. T. Williams, senior clerk in the Pensions Office, Christchurch, has been promoted to the position of divisional clerk at head office, Wellington. He will be succeeded by Mr G. 11. Frater. Mr P. J. Kelly, of Timaru, who was recently elected secretary of the New Zealand Freezing Workers’ Federation, will take over his duties from the present secretary (Mr H. C. Re veil) next month. Messrs C. E. Hooper. A. Watson, T S. Anderson. M. C. M’Pherson, J. A M’Lean, T. Baillie, R. Jackson, C. A. Gordon, T. R. Thompson, M. Rogers, R. H. Hope, E. Fisher and R. C. M'Laughlan (Dunedin) and J. A O’Conlev (Rakaia), are guests at the Royal Hotel.
