The Sydenham Methodist Haeremai Club held its meeting in the church parlour last Saturday. A debate was held between the Cambridge Terrace and Sydenham Clubs, the subject being “ That the rich arc the more useful part of the community.” The speakers for the affirmative were Messrs W. Greenwood, A. N. Dobbs and Miss P. Metson, while the speakers for Cambridge Terrace were I Messrs A. Dingwall, L. S. White and I Miss Scotter. The judge, Mr Spears, ! gave his decision in favour of the Sydenham Club.
