YOUNG MAN CHARGED WITH FALSE PRETENCES.
When John Forsyth, a labourer, aged 26. appeared before Mr E. D. Moslev, S.M., this morning, charged with obtaining money by fraud, the police said that there was another charge pending with the possibility of a third, as accused was in possession of stolen clothes. Chief-Detective Carroll said that Forsyth was already serving a sentence. He asked for a remand. The accused was remanded until June 30. The charge was that, with intent to defraud, the accused obtained from Reuben Bradbury the sum of £ls by falsely representing that he w*as a cartage contractor and that he had a contract for carrying grain from Rnngior.i.
