The diplomatic correspondent of the ‘Morning Post” understands that, following the original suggestion made by France, secret negotiations have recently been progressing between France and Great Britain with a view to Britain’s cession of her rights in the New Hebrides. There is no intention of acceding, however, as Australian interests must be considered.
