Mrs F. W. Cave, of Manukau Road, Auckland, is visiting Christsiiurch. Mr and Mrs A. Blakeley are Wellington visitors to Christchurch.

Mrs C. W. Cook, Christchurch, left last e\-ening for the north. Miss Gillespie, Timaru, will leave for the north to-night. Mr and Mrs Rands, Springbank, will leave for the north to-night. Mrs W. H. Amos, Ashburton, will travel north this evening. Mr and Mrs Borrie and two children, Timaru, left last evening for the north. Miss I. Wilson, New Brighton, will leave by the Niagara on June 30 for Suva.

Miss Peggy Chapman, Salisbury, is the guest of Mrs George Helmore, “Millbrook,” Fendalton.

Sir Heaton Rhodes, his sister, Mrs Willes, and Miss V. Hines will leave next Wednesday for Wellington to be present at the opening of Parliament. Guests at the Royal Hotel include: Mr and Mrs A. E. Letchen (Manchester, England), and Miss R. Norrie (Auckland). Mr and Mrs S. P. Bremner, Miss L. Bremner, Mr W. R. Hayward and Mr H. 11. Sykes Dunedin), Mr J. R. Oliver (Wellington) and Miss M. Meibom (Hanmer Springs) are staying at the. Hotel Federal.

Mys Allan Wilkie (Miss Hunter Wafjts), the Shakespearian actress, arrived from the north this morning and is staying at Warner’s Hotel. With her. husband she will leave for the south on Monday.

Austin, the English tennis star, is the first actress to insure her eyes, because of the strong light from the movie apparatus. She has taken out a policy for £5000!
