A proposal that Canada should follow the Irish Free State in promoting a hospital sweepstakes was killed in the Senate when a Bill by Senator Barnard, of . British Columbia, sponsoring a national hospitals’ drawing, was deferred for six months by thirty-four votes to twenty-two.
