LIFE-SAVING AWARDS APPROVED BY CENTRE.
A meeting of the Canterbury Head Centre ot the Royal Life-saving Society was held last evening, Mr P. R. Climie presiding. In reply to a letter from the Xew Zealand Council it was decided to apply for the New Zealand Surf Championships for the Nelson Shield to be held on f.i local beach about the time of the Dominion swimming championships, which are to be held, at Tiraaru. After some discussion it was resolved to suggest North Beach as the scene of the test. The following awards were approved: — Proficiency certificates (IS) —Lillian Wilkinson, Joan Robinson.
