PINEAPPLES AND BANANAS ARE IN PLENTIFUL SUPPLY.

Mutton and Lamb are Firm; Egg Prices Remain Steady.

In sympathy with wholesale prices, which have risen steadily lately, there hds been a firming in the prices of mutton and lamb. Beef remains unaltered. It is anticipated that further rises will yet have to come in the meat market, because the prices for many months have been very low. Meat. Quotations are;— per lb. Mutton—

Fruit and Vegetables. Pineapples and bananas are at present very plentiful, and both are cheap. The shops are canning large stocks of Island oranges, and Australian oranges are also plentiful. Cauliflowers are a little dearer.
