“YOU’RE A NUISANCE,” SAYS CHAIRMAN.
INTERJECTOR CAUSES A BREEZE AT CONFERENCE.
“ You are a nuisance from start to finish,” said the chairman (Mr R. Gibb), addressing Mr W. B. Bray at the annual conference of the National Beekeepers’ Association of New Zealand this morning.
Mr Bray had been a frequent interjector, and had risen to many points of order.
“ Now we are getting your measure,” was Mr Bray’s response to Mr Gibb. “ Mr Gibb is trading on an old friendship to ” The remainder of the remark was drowned in a chatter of voices and stamping of feet. “ Someone needs to hit you on the head with a mallet,” said Mr Gibb. “ It won’t be you.”
Things quietened down for a time, but later, when Mr Gibb asked Mr P. A. Hillary to take the chair, Mr Bray set the ball rolling again. Mr Bray: That will be a very good change. •
A delegate: I think that ought to l>e withdrawn. Mr Bray: I won’t. A delegate: Then as a gentleman I think you ought to leave the room.
