DISORDERLY CONDUCT BRINGS STIFF PENALTY.
A visit to the premises of the Farmers Saleyards in St Asaph Street n June 10 proved expensive for William Dempfey, thirty-one, a dealer. In the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., he was fined as follows:—For behaving in a disorderly manner in St Asaph Street, and costs; for wilfully damaging iurmture on the premises to the extent of £1 10s, £2 and ordered to make good the damage; for assaulting Alfred Walker, convicted and discharged; for using obscene language in a public place, £3; for behaving in a threatening manner, convicted and discharged; for using indecent language, convicted and discharged.
Mr Oliver, who appeared for the accused, changed the plea from not guilty to guilty as the case progressed. Police witnesses stated that accused was drunk, and no one could do anvthing with him.
