BUILDINGS WERE BADLY SHAKEN.
BIG SWELL REPORTED 70 MILES OFF COAST. (Continued from Page 1.) (Received June S, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 7. At North Allerton (Yorkshire) buildings were shaken to their foundations. Christabel Pankhurst and sundry clergymen declared that the earthquake portends the second coming of the Redeemer. The sea end of the Southend pier, which is a mile and a half long, heaved as if driven by a gale. A heavy swell is reported seventy miles off Scarborough, following a disturbance like the explosion of depth bombs, which caused a steamer to list.
