ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION MEETING.
The eighteenth annual meeting of the Christchurch Accountant Students’ Association was held last evening, Mr H. A. C. North presiding over an attendance of forty-four. The annual report stated that the past year had been most successful. The membership of the association had increased, and the average attendance at meetings had grown from thirty-two to forty-seven. A number of useful lectures had been given to members by business men, and debates had been held among the students. The financial statement showed an excess of assets over liabilities of £lO6 5s 3d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr W. A. Smith, a vice-president of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, addressed the meeting on behalf of the parent association. The election of officers for the ensu.ing year resulted:—President, Mr H. A. C. North; vice-presidents, Messrs \V. A. Smith, J. Mawson Stewart, R. J. M’Claren. W. E. Best, A. T. Whittingham, C. C. Holland and I. M. Preston; secretary, Mr A. M. Hatch; treasurer, Mr F. C. D. Taylor; auditor, Mr Turner Smith; honorary reporter, Mr L. L. Smith; committee, Messrs L. L. Smfth, T. Cullen, H. R. Hake, I>. W. Woodward. S. G. Savage, K. N. M’Gillivraj' and W. L. Watson.
