FIRE BOARD’S LEVY REDUCED THIS YEAR.
The fire protection rate will be reduced by £BSO in the new financial'year, according to advice received by the City Council last evening. The Christ-
church Fire Board wrote advising that the Minister of Internal Affairs had approved of the board's estimated expenditure of £12,600 for the current year. The board stated that the amount to be contributed by the City Council for the year ended March 31, 1932, was £6150, payable in quarterly instalments of £1537 10s. Last year s levy was £7OOO.
