Spoon Impresses On The Plough.

Tuesday. The weather was cold but fine for training operations at Riccarton this morning. The rain which fell during the night gave the ploughed track a good soaking, but it provided good going.' Dollar Raid, Battle Queen and The Quorn took 51sec for half a mile up the back, after running the first three furlongs in 37sec. They finished together, with The Quorn on the outside. There was not much between Arrowstick and Lochard at the end' of half a mile, which occupied 51 3-ssec. Bounday' Hit ■ was going well in a half-mile sprint, run in 50 2-ssec. Ma Belle Polly and Fortune Wheel broke away from th efive furlong post, but the former was an easy winner in lmin 4 3-ssec. Ringing Cheer beat Knocklong over half a mile in 50sec, a smart performance, These two are booked to race on the West Coast. Compris covered a mile in lmin 45 2-ssec. He w*ent at an even pace all the way and finished alongside Invictus, who joined in for the last six furlongs. Amorist covered six furlongs in lmin 19 3-ssec and was going well at the end. Eclair beat Tautbow over half a mile up the back in 50 3-ssec. Countermarch occupied lmin 19 2-ssec for six furlongs. On the Plough. Spoon reeled off seven furlongs in lmin 31sec, after doing the first halfmile in 49 4-ssec. She was moving in her best style all the way, and it was a very attractive performance. Praise and Jaloux were companions over six furlongs, taking 39sec for the first three and doing the full journey in lmin 20 l-ssec. Meprisant occupied lmin 23sec for six furlongs, but he was not out to make time. Adelphi occupied lmin 25sec for six furlongs. He went at an even pace throughout, but was not out for time. Coll ran five furlongs very comfortably in lmin 12sec.
