RICCARTON LIBRARY REPORTS GOOD YEAR.
Despite the heavy rain there was an attendance of nearly thirty at the annual meeting- of subscribers of the Rlccarton Public Library in the Town Hall. Mi' 11. Odell, the president, was in the chair. Delegations from the Addington and Linwood libi-aries attended by invitation, and were welcomed by the chairman. The president congratulated the subscribers on the excellent result of the year’s working. He explained that the credit balance was due to the fact that most of the subscriptions were paid in December and January. Since the close

Lowe, F. Li 11, F. Cossins, H. Le Grange and Metcalf. The first meeting of the new committee was fixed for the second Monday in April. A member raised the question of making a further application to the Borough Council for a grant. The president, the' treasurer and Mr Steere pointed out that already the council ?! a y®. library accommodation and lighting fjree and without that assistance the present splendid position could not have-been reached.
