RICCARTON LIBRARY REPORTS GOOD YEAR.

Despite the heavy rain there was an attendance of nearly thirty at the annual meeting- of subscribers of the Rlccarton Public Library in the Town Hall. Mi' 11. Odell, the president, was in the chair. Delegations from the Addington and Linwood libi-aries attended by invitation, and were welcomed by the chairman. The president congratulated the subscribers on the excellent result of the year’s working. A member raised the question of making a further application to the Borough Council for a grant. The president, the' treasurer and Mr Steere pointed out that already the council ?! a y®. library accommodation and lighting fjree and without that assistance the present splendid position could not have-been reached.
