PUBLIC TRUSTEE IS APPOINTED MANAGER.
Following the liearinq of a petition yesterday, Mr Justice Kennedy in the Supreme Court this morning made an order, in accordance with the provisions of the Aged and Infirm Persons Act. appointing the Public Trustee manager of the estate of George William Body, now of Methven, retired farmer. The Court further directed that any testamentary disposition of property made henceforward by George William Body without the approval of the Court should be ineffective. The costs of the proceedings will be borne by the estate. The petition was made on the grounds that Body is, by reason of his great age and physical and mental infirmities. unable wholly or partly to manage his affairs. The petitioners, Nellie Fanny Reeves, of Ashburton, married woman, and Lily Mary Upritchard, wife of Samuel Upritchard, of Peel Forest, farmer, were represented by Mr Acland, with him Mr Brassington. Mr Thomas appeared for G. W. Body.
