Herriot has resigned the Mayoralty of Lyons, consequent on a sweeping Socialist victory in the primary elections of senators representing the Rhone Department. The victory of the Socialists is due to the breaking up of the_ old alliance with the . Radical Socialists, of which M. Herriot was leader.
