Recent reports from England show that considerable prominence was given to the. selection of the New Zealand cricket team, and in the comments thereon special reference is made to the fact that eight members of the team toured England in 1927. Surprise is expressed at the non-inclusion of some players who had been well spoken of by members of the M.C.C. team and who, by accounts, were still showing good form. Newman and M’Girr were two of those who had previously been regarded as certain, members of the side, but more surprising still was the omission of Blundell, “ who did so well at Cambridge as to be regarded as a better bowler than Allom” The writers at Home seem to have plenty of information regarding the performances of New Zealand representatives.
