NAVY VETERAN MEETS DEATH IN CAR CRASH.
WAS ON VINDICTIVE IN ZEEBRUGGE RAID. Pr>r Press Association. WHAN GA RET, March 30. William Samuel Newberry, a farmer, of Parua Bay, was killed on Saturday night at Waikaraka, six miles from Whangarei, when a car, of which he was the sole occupant, toppled over a bank. Deceased served aboard the Vindictive in the historic Zeebrugge raid. His widow is touring the United States. One son, Reginald, a prominent vocalist, is undergoing musical training on the Continent. Another son resides in Whangarei.
