AVON CLUB’S SEASON CLOSED WITH RACES.
A programme of events on the Avon marked the closing of the Avon Rowing Club's season on Saturday. Several competitions have not been finalised, but these will be decided this week. Following were results of the races;— Stigden Fours—First heat: G. Rushworth, A. Andrews, L. Patterson, I. Carlisle beat R. Orsborn, F. H. Thompson, J. Rush worth, W. Harvey. Second heat: A. Woodham. A. Robinson, Coates, H. Williamson beat C. A. Stipes. G. Jordan. L. Webb. A. Jones. Third heat: F. Duggan, G. Litten. O. Wright, W. Penman beat W. Bridgart, A. Evans, G. Bowden, W. Barwick. Semi-final: Duggan’s crew beat C. Bishop, R. Thompson, O. Hutcheson. F. Brettell. Rushworth beat Woodham. Final: Duggan beat Rushworth. Won by a quarter of a length. A further heat of the Lamb Memorial Fours resulted: —A. Woodham, F. H. Thompson, W. Barwick, A- Jobes heat G. Rushvtforth, A. Robinson, L. Webb, F. Brettell. In a heat for the St Albans Cup fopen 'singles). A. Andrews (4sec) beat G. Wright (11 sec).
