Miss M. Fell, London, is a guest' at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Bertha Wilson, Auckland, is in Christchurch, and is staying at the United Service Hotel. Mr and Mrs Spensley Howeth, St Clair, Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs C, G. Hamann, Fendalton. Mr Patrick Carey and Mrs Carey (Miss Mercedes Gleitze) left Christchurch last night for Wellington,. Mr and Mrs IT. T, Mills, who have been visiting Christchurch, will leave to-night for Wellington. Mr and Mrs Truscott, Auckland, are guests at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Thomson, Montreal Street, returned to-day from a visit to Hanmer Springs. Mrs A. C. Begg and Miss Begg, Dunedin, are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. Miss Joy Rawnsley, Ashburton, is visiting Mrs J. D. Lawrence at Sumner .. • Miss Anne Buckley has. returned to Leinster Road • after a visit to Warmate: Miss Mary ITodsonarrived yesterday from Hanmer Springs and is the guest of Mrs Norman Parsons, Office Road. Miss Lynley Herdman, Fendalton, is the guest of Mrs H. W. Royds in Invercargill. Miss Majory Simson, who has been spending a short holiday in Auckland, has returned to Christchurch. Miss J. M’Donald, of Christchurch, is spending a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland, and is staying with Mrs Wilkinson, Takapuna. Mr and Mrs Charles Bean, Hereford Street, will leave this evening for Wellington to visit their daughter, Mrs H. W. Harris, Island Bay. Miss Nancy McDougall, Papanui Road, who has been spending a holiday at the Southern Lakes, is visiting friends in Dunedin. Mrs Brand, Scotland, who has been visiting the West Coast, is at present in Christchurch, and is staying with Mrs J. H. Hall, Papanui Road. Mrs Arthur Rhodes, England, who has been spending several months in New Zealand, has left South Canterbury, and will leave for England at the end of the month. Miss Monica Cocks, Ranfurly Street, has left for South Canterbury, where she will visit Mrs Mowbray Tripp at Silverton, and Miss Tripp at Orari Gorge.
Mrs J. Fearnley and her son, Mr M. J. Fearnley, of Napier, are the guests of Mr and Mrs T. G. Lewis, Hotel Federal. Mrs Fearnley’s home was destroyed .by the earthquake. Mrs S. M. Williamson, Weka Street, Fendalton, has received advice that she has been successful in gaining her Licentiate Diploma for singing. Mrs Williamson was a pupil of the Convent, Kaikoura.
