“CAN’T STOP BOOKMAKING.”
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 16. Stuart Caslay, aged forty-one, was fined £26 for carrying on business as a bookmaker. Robert Francis Singe, aged fortyone, on a similar charge, was remanded tin March 19. The Magistrate (Mr Hunt) said: You can’t stop bookmaking. It’s no use saying you can. It’s like opium smoking.
