SPEED CARNIVAL AT NEW BRIGHTON

CONCLUDING RESULTS IN SATURDAY’S RACES.

The following Rre concluding results at the motor racing carnival held at New Brighton on Saturday: BONNINGTON OPEN HANDICAP. Of 20 sovs, second rider 6 sovs, third 3 sovs and fourth 1 sov from the stake. Eight miles. A. Fuller (3J Matchless), 50sec .... 1 J. Chapman (22 Rex Acme), 70sec 2 R. Carpenter (35 J.A.P.), 27Jsec .... 3 S. Preddy £35 Ariel), 30sec 4 Times—Smin 27 2-ssec, Sniin 47 3-ssec, Smin 85sec. LIGHT CAR HANDICAP. 6 miles. L. F. Poore (S h.p. B.S.A.>, 40sec .. J D. C. Crozier (7 h.p. Austin), scr .. 2 Also started—C. R. Hayward <7 Austin) 35sec, B. Tench (Singer Junior) L. F. Poore led for the entire race. Crozier made a great race from the scratch mark. He caught Hayward (who retired) in the third lap. Tench retired in the fourth. In the final lap Crozier drove harder than ever but could not gain sufficiently. Poore won comfortably. Times—7min 40 2-ssec, 7min 3 2-ssec. CONSOLATION HANDICAP. (Open to all riders ■who have not won a race at the meeting). Of 8 sovs, second rider 2 sovs and third 1 sov from the stake. Four miles. R.
