CHRISTCHURCH CLUB’S OPENING COMPETITION. The official openin.fi; of the season took place at Shirley on Saturday under the best of conditions. The course was very “summery,” but nevertheless some good scores were returned in the competition, the A. E. G. Rhodes Bowl, a mixed four-ball bogey, particularly that of the winners, Dr and Mrs P. S. Foster. Members and their friends were the guests of the president. Mr Norton Francis, and the captain, Sir Cyril Ward, at afternoon tea. The scores were:— Dr P. S. Foster and Mrs Foster 10 up K.
