As the surf was mild, and other conditions good, the competition, which is a one man event, was held opposite to the club pavilion. The subjects were chosen in proportion to the weight of the juvenile competitor, and a slight allowance was made for the varying weights. The competitors being fairly even in resuscitation and water work, the contest resolved itself into a time contest in the swim out. In this matter, the winner was the fastest by IS seconds, the times varying from 3min 2 sec t.o 3 min 4 6 sec. Considering the size of the lads, some very good work was shown, there being evidence of good training and keen interest. The trophy and prizes will be presented at a social to be held later. The officials were Messrs .1. M. Mitchell. O. G. Wood and S. K. Bassett, judges; Air O. G. Wood, timekeeper. Results:— A. Dawe, 90 points t A. Henley. 86 1-3 points !' 2 J-r.
