SYDNEY AEROPLANE STRUCK FLAGPOLE.
PILOT INJURED AND PASSENGER KILLED.

During a flight over the city this morning heavy rain made visibility bad, and a ’plane crossing Vaucluse heights struck a flagstaff which tore off a wing. Captain Jolley, a well-known aviator, who was a passenger, was killed. The pilot, Mr Robertson, suffered a fractured skull and is in a serious condition.
