Mixed with an equal quantity of lime water, olive oil makes a soothing application for a burn. A litle of this mixture should always be kept handy. Silver will not tarnish in storage if a thin film of olive oil is smeared over it. When the silver is required for use, wash in a warm, soapy lather, and dry thoroughly. Olive oil is an excellent skin food. Rub a little into the hands and face at bedtime, then wash in the usual way.

Split the fruit in halves, loosen the pulp, remove pips, dredge lightly with castor sugar, and serve as a preliminary to lunch or dinner. It will stimulate jaded appetites.
