CAR MOUNTS RETAINING WALL ON EVANS’ PASS.
A narrow escape from serious ipjury befell Mr Clifford Whitford last evening, when his three-seater car ran partly over the retaining wall on the Sum-ner-Lyttelton highway near the top of Evans’ Pass. It was hanging half over the cliff, when it stopped, allowing Mr Whitford to get out. The cause of the accident is unknown. The car was removed this morning.
