RINK CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES CONTINUED. Flay in the Christehurc Bowling Centre s champion of champions rinks competition was continued on the Canterbury green this afternoon, when the games in the third round and the semifinal took place. The green was in iperfect order, but a strong, gusty wind which blew across the green made good play very difficult. Before play was commenced the umpire (Mr W. Efford) made reference to the death of Mr E. W. Wade, secretary of the centre, and a motion of condolence with the widow and family was passed. St Albans won the next five heads, but managed to score seven points only, finishing one down. In the last head Oakey made a good try to score two so as to tie, but he caught the jack on the wrong side mu vas able to et one Point only. The game between Lin woo'd and Unitcd was particularly interesting. After the sixteenth head United were five down, but they scored a seven in the seventeenth head. Linwood replied with a single in the eighteenth head and a six in the nineteenth. The next head resulted in a single for Linwood, leaving United with the necessity of scoring six to tie in the last head. Watson burnt the head twice and in the second re-play scored a single, leaving him five down. Sunnyside and Beckenham fought out an even game which had to go to an extra head for decision. In the extra head Sunnysjde scored two, which gave them the game. A number of heads were burnt in the early stages of the game between Shirley and Christchurch. When sixteen heads had been played Christchurch had a lead of five points, but they did not score again, and Shirley won with a margin of four points. Owing to Dickson not being available, Dobbs played as skip for Christchurch, with J. Ainger as the substitute player in third place.
