NOTHING CONTENTIOUS ON THE ORDER PAPER,
There is nothing on the order j>aper for Monday evening’s meeting of the Christchurch City Council that is likely to cause lengthy discussion. The most important - matter will probably be further consideration of refunding abattoir fees to the master butchers. A synopsis of business is as follows: Question of refund of abattoir fees to master butchers. , Erection of Beckenham Library building. Effecting improvements to drainage at St James’ Park. Acquisition of land for widening Trafalgar Street. Works Committee’s report re application from residents in Idris Road to have Idris Road tar-sealed. Tenders for oats.
Reports from Reserves and Works Committees in reference to the number of men employed under the No. 5 scheme.
The Council will sit as the licensing authority for the No. 10 Motor Omnibus District at S p.m. to further consider the application of the Railway Department to change the route of their buses to Whitecliffs, Springfield and Coalgate.
