CANADIAN VICTOR should make her departure from Wellington to-day for Auckland, where she will complete her loading for New York, Boston and Canadian ports. OVERSEA VESSELS. NORTHUMBERLAND left Lyttel-ton last evening for Port Chalmers, where the vessel will complete unloading Liverpool cargo. She later loads at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Port Chalmers, Timaru, Lyttelton, Napier and Wellington. Due back at Lyttelton January 23. To sail from Wellington on FebruSURREY, from Liverpool, now at Auckland discharging, is timed to leave the northern port to-morrow for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. ZEALANDIC loads at Port Chalmers on January 22 for London. The vessel Is at present en route to Port Chalmers from the United KingdonS. Her other loading ports are Bluff, Timaru, Wellington, Wanganui and Lyttelton. To leave on February 11. RARANGA is timed to leave Gisborne to-day for Auckland. Leaves Auckland on January 15 for London, via Panama. ROTORUA leaves Bluff on January 7 for Port Chalmers. To sail from the latter port on, Januayr 10 for London. NARBADA DUE FRIDAY. The Narbada, from Calcutta, via Singapore, Samarang and other Eastern ports, is due at Lyttelton on Friday. The vessel has already discharged at Auckland, and is now at Wellington. From Lyttelton she proceeds to Timaru, Dunedin and Sydney. PORT WELLINGTON TO COMPLETE. The O. and D. Line steamer Port Wellington, deeply laden, left Lyttelton last evening for Port Chalmers, where she will load further wool and produce to-day. She leaves the southern port to-morrow for London, via Panama. PORT FAIRY REPORTS. The Port Fairy, which is to load in New Zealand and is en route from Hobart, reports by radio that she expects to arrive at New Plymouth at daylight to-morrow. ENTON DUE AUCKLAND SATURDAY. The Enton, from New York for New Zealand ports, reports by wireless that she should arrive at Auckland on Saturday. The vessel will also discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. OTAIO LEAVES HOME. The Otaio, the first of the three cargo liners constructed for the New Zealand Shipping Company, left Liverpool on Saturday on her maiden voyage to New Zealand. The Otaio, a motorship of 12,000 tons gross register, is coming out under the agency of the Federal Company, and should arrive in New Zealand early in February. She is under the command of Captain G. F. Mead, who was formerly master of the Norfolk. PERSONAL. Mr J. 71. Gilmour has joined the Kiwitea as chief engineer, and Mr J. M’Gill has joined the same vessel ns second engineer. Mr 3. Stewart has joined the Kahika as third engineer. Mr M. A. Scott is joining the Komata as chief engineer. Mr W. L. Larsen has joined the Tamaliine as fourth engineer in place of Mr Lewis, who is ashore on sick leave. MAHENO DUE TOMORROW. The Union Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Maheno is due at Lyttelton to-morrow morning from Melbourne, via the Milford Sounds, Bluff and Dunedin. The vessel has if* small quantity of cargo for discharge, and sails to-morrow evening for Wellington. On the vessel's last voyage from Bluff to Melbourne, Christmas was celebrated on board in a truly festive manner. The captain, officers, passengers and crew threw themselves into the fun heartily, and a happy Christmas was spent. On the return voyage to Bluff the New Year was ushered in with celebrations in the good old-fashioned eUTe. A thoroughly enjoyable time was =. cut on shipboard by the passengers during the whole holiday season. The enchanting beauty of Milford Sound and its myriad wonders were loudly extolled by the passengers. The rough weather prevailing at the time added to, rather than detracted from, the grandeur of its scenery. FIRE DAMAGES CARGO ON SWEDISH STEAMER. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 6. Fire occurred in the bunkers of the Swedish steamer Unden at Los Angeles recently, according to advice received in Auckland. The message did not state whether any damage had been done to the steamer or cargo. Owing to the fire a general average has been declared on the cargo, but the average percentage has not been announced. At the time of the fire the steamer was loaded with cargo from Pacific Coast ports for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Brisbane, Sydney and Mel* bourne.
