SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD AT WAIKARI.

A very successful dance was held in the Public Hall, Waikari, on New Year’s Eve under the auspices of the local tennis club. Alany visitors to the district attended. The music was supplied by Messrs C. Surridge (piano), and R. Wentzel (violin) and Air R. Alueller was AI.C. At midnight “Auld Lang Syne” was heartily sung by all present, after which the dancing was resumed. Several novelty dances were won as follows: Lucky-spot waltz, Miss A Brown and Air T. Smith; luck}' number waltzes, Aliss A. Brown and Mr T. Smith, Aliss C. Keppler and R. Alarsden, Aliss K. Constance and partner; lucky spot waltz. Aliss Thompson and Air Al’Girr; Alonte Carlo, .Aliss M. Blake and II Earl.
