WEALTH AND GLORIES OF PERSIA IN LONDON.
Amazing Exhibition Of Treasure Is Guarded By Sensitive Radio Rays. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.' (Received January 6, noon). LONDON, January 5. To make “The Golden Journey to Samarkand’’ it is only necessary to visit the International Exhibition of Persian Art, assembled from all parts of the world, which is being held at the Royal Academy under the patronage of his Majesty and the Shah. A preliminary view discloses the delicate tracery of priceless illuminated manuscripts, historic carpets — centuries old—and also weapons, jewellery, glass, crystal, paintings and tissues in profusion and unimaginable outside the Arabian Nights. The most striking display is contained in a showcase, which is guarded by a radiovisor light, with a sensitive bridge, so that any interruption of the ray releases a switch and illuminates a warning signal in the main entrance and turnstiles, closing all the doors.
