OLD MISSION HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE.
Per Press Association. THAMES, Tanuarv 5 An historic building, which was a link with the earliest missionaries of the Angelican mission at Puriri in 1833, was destroyed by fire at Parawai.
Thames, last evening. The building was erected by Maori converts for the Revs Maunsell and Davis when the mission moved from Puriri to Parawai. The back portion, where the fire originated, was part of the original building, but the front had been renovated. The occupants lost all, escaping in their night clothes.
