"ANIMAL CRACKERS” IS PERFECT RIOT OF FUN.
“Animal Crackers,” the Paramount talking comedy which is now showing at the Regent Theatre, is one long laugh from beginning to end. There is not a dull monunt, the fun waxes fast and furious, and the antics of the four Marx brothers are enough to make almost any person laugh. The brothers are the -whole show. Groucho in the role of a big game hunter bounds from the wilds of Africa into the home of a Long Island society leader. Along with him come Chico, an Italian bravo, Harpo, a vagabond, and Zeppo, Groucho’s secretary. The story centres round the disappearance of a valuable painting, and the stunts of the comedians, although nonsensical, are highly amusing. Several choruses sung by the whole cast of players introduce a novel touch to the picture. Two shorts complete a very entertaining programme.
