DANCERS BLOWN OFF PLATFORM AT METHVEN.
Blowing in boisterous gusts, a nor’west wind on Saturday was unkind to tiny tots who were competing in the dancing events at the Methven Caledonian Society’s annual gathering. So strong was the wind that the junior competitors had much difficulty when ;t came to .their turn to go before the iudge. More than one was blown completely off the dancing board and disappeared over the edge in a flurry of tartan. Towards the close of the day heavy showers of rain fell, and conditions for the dancers were made even more difficult. The board became slippery, and finally had to be abandoned, the dancing events being completed in the pavilion.
