TIMARU SOCIAL NOTES.

Miss Annette Hornby (England) is the gust of Mrs J. M. Barker (Waihi, Woodbury). Mrs Cecil Perry (“Cadogan,” Sefton Street) will leave to-day to spend a lew days in Christchurch. The Miss Woollcombe (Trafalgar Street) will leave to-day to spend a holiday in Christchurch. Miss Pratt (Christchurch) has returned to the north after a visit to Mrs F F. A. Ulrich (Elizabeth Street). Mr and Mrs C. S. Thomas (Christchurch) are spending the holidays m Timaitj and the staying at the Bungalow. Mr and Mrs Harold Barker (Christchurch) are the guests of Mrs J. M. Barker (“Waihi,” Woodbury). Canon and Mrs Percival James (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs Wilfrid "White (“Summerhill,” Levels) for a few days. Miss Nancy Orbell (“The Croft”) has returned home after spending a few days with Mrs E. C. Studholme (“Te Waimate”). Miss Rosa Tripp (Wai-iti Road) and her guest Miss Joan Maling (Christchurch) left on Saturday to spend the week-end at Orari Gorge. Mr and Mrs H. Sinclair Thompson (Park Lane), Mrs Derrick Gould (Christchurch) and Mr A. Elworthy (Holme Station) are camping at Mount Possession. Miss Olive Lyon (England), who was staying with Miss Ziesler (Elizabeth Street) motored to Christchurch on Saturday for the Barker—Giles wedding this week. Mr and Mrs Philip Brandon (Wellington), who are the guests of Mr and Mrs R. B. Morris (“Sunridge,” St Andrew's), will return to the North Island this week. Mrs Chapman and Mrs Francis Knubley (Christchurch) w 7 ill arrive in Timaru to-day, where they have taken the Misses Woollcombe's house in Trafalgar Street for the holidays. Mrs Elworthy and Miss Elworthy (“Pareora Cottage,” LeCren’s Terrace) who have been staying with Mr and Mrs W. N. Bond (“Dunrobin,” Glenelg) for the holidays, will arrive in Timaru this week. Miss Peggy Williams (“Silverton,” (Woodbury) and Miss Felicity Wililams (England), who have been the guests of Mrs F. J. Rolleston (LeCren’s T rrace), have returned to stay with Mrs J. Mowbray Tripp (“Silverton”).
