Christchurch, from Samuel Page and Son, dated December 31:— Butter—The market is firmer owing to the reduced stocks. Quotations are: Danish 140 s to 1425, finest New Zealand 116 s to 118 s, finest Australian unsaltcd 114 s tp 116 s, salted 112 s to 116 s, g.a.Q. 106 s to 110 s. Cheese—The market is steady at present prices. Quotations are:—New Zealand white 61s to 62s and coloured 69s to 60s, Canadian spot white 74s to 78s and coloured 74s to 765, Australian white 60s to 61s and coloured 58s to 695. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., advise that they have received a cablegram from their London office, giving the following information, under date January 1: Butter—Quotations are: Choicest salted 116 s to 118 s. Docked steamers are not yet available. Cheese—" White 61s to 625, coloured 59s to 60s. The market is stead}'.
