Miss G. Harris (South Canterbury) is a guest at Warner’s Hotel. Mr and Mrs P. Maggs, Brisbane, are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mr and Mrs J. Dunlop, Invercargill, are guests at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr and Mrs E. M. Lovell-Smith are spending a holiday at Otira. Mr and Mrs J. J. Knight and the Misses Knight, Brisbane, are guests at the United Service Hotel. Misses N. and I. Cornelius, Christchurch, are spending the holidays in Wellington. Mrs James Cooke, Rugby Street, is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Dr and Mrs Ernest Cooke, Lincoln. Mrs Reynolds and Miss Rose Reynolds, Park Terrace, are spending a holiday at Arthur's Pass. Mr and Mrs F. J. Lawrence Scott, of Jubilee Avenue, North Beach, are spending a brief holiday at Ashburton.

Mr E. A. M. Leaver and Miss Irene Leaver, North Beach, have returned from a visit to Feilding. Mr and Mrs Harley Hannah, Redcliffs, are at Little Rakaia for the holida3 r s. Mr and Mrs Mackie, of the Southbridge District High School, are spending their holidaj's at Sumner. Mrs L. M. Raffell and Miss Thelma Gelling, who have been spending a holiday in Timaru, returned home yesterday.

Mr and Mrs G. F. Lomas, Wanganui, and Mr Leslie Scott, Dunedin, are the guests of Mr and Mrs M. S. Brown, Webb Street. , Mrs Reeves, late of the tea kiosk, Botanical Gardens, has taken over the lease of the tea kiosk in the Botanical Gardens, Brisbane, and will leave for that city this month.

Mr and Mrs Hoffman and son, who resided for some time at North Beach, returned to Christchurch on Tuesday from Sydney, where they have resided for the past four years.

Miss Thelma Mickle will return to Akaroa to-day after a fortnight spent with her uncle and aunt, Dr and Mrs A. F. J. Mickle, Nelson Street, New Brighton. Miss L. A. Wheeler, an American journalist, who is touring New Zealand, will return from the south on January 9, and will leave for the West Coast next day. The marriage was celebrated recently at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, England, of Mr C. E. Low and Miss Olive M. Rowe, both distinguished, graduates of Canterbury College, Christchurch, New Zealand. The latest arrivals at the Hotel Federal include:—Mr C. Broad, Master C. Broad (Feilding), Miss D.
