MARSHAL JOFFRE RESTING TRANQUILLY.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. > (Received January 2, 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 2. A cable message was received ffom London announcing the death of Marshal Joffre, but a subsequent message stated that this report was unfounded and that an official bulletin had been issued saying that he was resting tranquilly.
