CITY CLUBS CONDUCT RINK TOURNAMENTS. Successful rink tournaments were conducted yesterday by the Canterbury and LI n wood Bowling Clubs under ideal weather conditions. At each green three rounds of twenty-one heads were played yesterdaj', and there will be a further two rounds tc-day, when the tournament will be concluded. At the Canterbury green twenty-two rinks took part, the following clubs being represented: Edgeware, Blenheim, Kaiapoi Working Men’s Club, Aulsebrook’s, Linwood, Papanui, United, Riccarton Racecourse. Spreydcn, Shirley. Sydenham. Christchurch, Imperial. Rakaia, Heathcote and Canterbury. Mr M. F. Barnett officiated as umpire, Mr B. J. Finnegan as secretary, and Mr .7. C. Smith as timekeeper. The following skips won all their games: M’Keen (Sydenham), Angus (Canterbury), Ives (Canterbury) and Harkess (Canterbury). At the Linwood green eighteen rinkr. took part, representing the following clubs: Linwood, Barrington, Opawa, New Brighton, United, Sydenham and Beckenham. The rinks were divided into two sections, and after the two rounds today the winners will play off for the final. Mr G. Williamson was in charge of the tournament.
