UNION REJECTED RATIONING PLAN.
TRAMWAYMEN GET DISMISSAL NOTICES.
Twelve employees in the Tramway traffic department received dismissal notices to-day and three more will be paid off later.
The Tramway Board carried out this decision following the rejection by the union of the board’s plan of rationing employment in the traffic department. The . proposals made by the board under which the men would have been retained meant that every employee in the traffic department would take one day off without pay, in every three weeks.
