P. -Rollings, skipper of the Wellington yacht Windward, which left Wellington on Christmas morning for the Chatham Islands, states that the boat arrived at Waitangi at 3.30 p.m. )*esterday, after being at sea for seven days six hours. She was becalmed one day off Cape Palliser, and one and a half days in mid-ocean. On Tuesday night the yacht was hove to in a southerly gale for twelve hours, and on Wednesday heavy seas carried away the main sheet and topping lifts freeing the main boom, which broke loose and carried a man overboard. lie was promptly rescued, however. and the boat was again hove to. this time for three hours, while repairs were effected. .Ml on board are well and happy.
