A CHRISTMAS STORY.

Jack and Peggy were helping to catch the turkey they were to have for Christmas dinner next day. When he was caught he was killed and plucked and put in the oven to cook. Jack and Peggy went inside to have a rest on the couch, but no sooner were they seated than a big turkey came into the room and said, “I want you children,” and he tucked them underneath his wings and away he went. Soon they arrived at an old barn house where quite a company of turkeys were gathered for a meeting. Among them was a turkey who was a magician and he said to the children, “I shall turn the both of you into turkeys. Hey Presto, be turkeys,” and turkeys they were. Jack and Peggy made a dash for the door and ran down the street as hard as they could go. Suddenly they woke up to find it was only a dream! Douglas Blewett (11 years), 2, Brett’s Road.
